How do I know if I really need to go to counseling or if I should just power through my issues on my own?

First assess how long you have been struggling with your particular issues and try to gage how successful you feel you have been handling them alone. Counseling is designed to be a tool to help you identify and resolve the challenges you are facing. Counseling sessions are a dedicated 50 minutes with a professional focusing on problematic life issues with a goal of resolution. It is smart self-care, not weakness, to seek help from a professional when you are struggling.

What is walk and talk therapy?

Walk and talk therapy is like traditional therapy, only it is conducted outdoors while walking. Did you know that just 10 minutes of walking could boost your mood for two hours? There are many health benefits to walking, and combined with therapy it is a great way to move your body and your mind.

What if I don’t want to walk?

Virtual is your only other option.

 What if it’s raining?

We will make arrangements to meet virtually and forego walking for that day OR we can grab our umbrellas and walk in the rain.

Do I have to be in shape?

Nope! All fitness levels are welcome. The only requirement is that you are able to walk at slow (or fast if you prefer) pace for about 50 minutes. Doctors clearance required for Eating Disorder clients.

 What do I wear?

Whatever you want, I just ask that you wear comfortable walking shoes.

 Where do we walk?

When you make an appointment with me I will send you the location of where we will walk. We walk in quiet, beautiful neighborhoods around Pasadena.

What can I expect in my first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We will discuss the concerns that bring you to counseling, goals for therapy, and general medical history. We can work together to create a schedule that works best for you, as well as discuss payment. My hope is to develop an understanding of how I can help you achieve your goals.
